Ca’ Ronesca lies on the border between Italy and Slovenia. The property follows the State border for 2 kilometers of vineyards and woods. The constant breeze which blows from the valley of Isonzo tells the tale of the land and its people, who were divided and hostile until a mere twenty years ago and are now united and cooperative.
Cradled by the sixty hectares of woods which border them, 37 hectares of our vineyards are in the town of Dolegna del Collio, whereas another 20 hectares completely envelop the Ipplis hill which is dominated by a hundred-year-old cypress tree. Around it you will find chestnut, holm-oak, oak, acacia and juniper trees and on the steep slopes facing the warm eastern sun Sauvignon, Pinot gris, Chardonnay, Pinot blanc, Malvasia, Ribolla gialla and Tocai friuliano, as well as Merlot, Cabernet franc and Pinot noir. For the past forty years, watchful and silent, they have gazed upon the cultural vicissitudes.
And it is precisely in this territory which is steeped in history, sentiment and great upheavals, that the wine estate Ca’ Ronesca was established, founded through the desire to transform the best grapes of its own farm into high quality wines, the fruit of a unique terroir which, along with many long hours spent patiently laboring in the vineyards and the wine cellars throughout the whole year, bestows unique aromas and flavors to our wines.
The nature of our land, our pride in cultivating it with passion as we always have, making use of simple techniques and technologies: our wines will speak of this, with the typicality which sets them apart and makes them easily recognizable.
